Yes, there are Democrats who are racist, or who say racially insensitive
things. Truth be told, sometimes the media lets them off a lot easier than they
would a Republican, although that often has...

Buena Vista Township Clerk Gloria Platko is resisting demands that she step
down after another local official, Interim Township Manager Dexter Mitchell (a
Democrat), taped a phone conversation in which Platko referred to Township
Supervisor Dwayne Parker (also a Democrat) as ?an arrogant nigger.?

The 63 year-old Democrat later apologized for the ?slip of the tongue,? but
shockingly insisted that her use of the slur doesn?t make her racist, because
she has ?eaten Thanksgiving dinner with black friends at their house.?

Remember When Condoleezza Rice Was Called a "House Nigger"?

https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/remember-when-condoleezza-rice-was-
called-house-nigga-eliana-johnson/

That didn't take long. U.N. ambassador Susan Rice has yet to be nominated as
secretary of state, but prominent Democrats are already denouncing opposition
to her potential nomination as racist on the basis of remarks by Republican
senators that she may not be qualified for the job. Would that they had been so
sensitive to racial overtones back in 2004, when the African-American nominee
for secretary of state, the Republican Ms. Rice, was denounced on the Senate
floor and pilloried in racialist cartoons.

Rice's nomination, noted the Washington Post, garnered "the most negative votes
cast against a nominee for that post in 180 years." As the Senate debated her
nomination, Senator Barbara Boxer charged that Rice "frightened the American
people" into supporting the Iraq War; Senator Jim Jeffords accused her of being
part of an effort to "distort information" in the service of "political
objectives"; and Senator Pat Leahy, who voted in her favor, endorsed her by
saying that her tenure as national-security adviser lacked "strong leadership,
openness, and sound judgment."

But the remarks of Senate Democrats paled in comparison to the material served
up by America's humorists. Syndicated cartoonist Ted Rall depicted Rice
proclaiming herself Bush's "house nigga."

Rall's depiction was followed months later by that of Jeff Danziger of the New
York Times Syndicate. Danziger drew a big-lipped, barely literate Condoleezza
Rice, nursing the aluminum tubes cited by the White House as evidence of Iraq's
pursuit of nuclear weapons.

By all accounts, the Democratic Ms. Rice has received far more delicate
treatment at the hands of politicians and the media. During an otherwise
uneventful stint as ambassador to the United Nations, she is now under fire for
attributing the Benghazi attacks to "a hateful and offensive video" on five
Sunday morning news programs. In the wake of these comments, Senator John
McCain described her as "not being very bright," and stated that, "if she
didn't know better, she's not qualified" to be secretary of state. Senator
Lindsey Graham noted, "I don't trust her," and that "if she didn't know better,
she shouldn't be the voice of America."#more#

MSNBC executive and former Newsweek White House correspondent Richard Wolffe
spent Monday night parsing the aspects of John McCain's racial animus. Wolffe
seemed even to surprise host Chris Matthews - not exactly shy about identifying
racism in the GOP - who asked, incredulously, "You're saying that McCain is
being driven by racial prejudice here?" According to Wolffe, "There is no other
way to look at this."

Matthews pointed out the seemingly inconsistent fact that McCain supported
Condoleezza Rice's nomination to the State Department, but Wolffe easily saw
past that. McCain's support for Rice in 2004, he explained, is further evidence
of his racism. "John McCain said the people - the Democrats who were
questioning Condi Rice's credential - they were just engaged with bitterness,
they needed to move on," Wolffe said. "Why has he changed his tune? What is it
about Susan Rice?" The question, obviously, is rhetorical.

Wolffe is not alone. Ohio congresswoman Marcia Fudge noted sorrowfully, "It is
a shame that anytime something goes wrong, they [Republicans] pick on women and
minorities." South Carolina congressman Jim Clyburn took things a step further,
telling CNN on Tuesday that he hears racial "code words" in Republican
opposition to Rice's nomination. Those are words such as "incompetent." "These
kinds of terms that those of us - especially those of us who were grown and
raised in the South - we've been hearing these little words and phrases all of
our lives and we get insulted by them," Clyburn said.

And hey, what's being called a "house nigga" when there are racists lurking out
there using code words like "incompetent"?

Racist, Anti-Semitic Comments By 9 Democrats Who Went Unpunished

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/racist-anti-semitic-comments-by-9-democrats-
who-went-unpunished

As much as Democrats want to claim the GOP is the party of racism, members of
their own ranks should take a good, long look in the mirror.

"I don't think either side has a monopoly on this," former Senate Republican
Conference Chief of Staff Ron Bonjean said of politicians saying racist things.

Bonjean, speaking Monday with CNN "Out Front" host Brianna Keilar, rattled off
a couple of examples, but here are nine major statements by Democrats that went
almost unnoticed by the mainstream media:

1. Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Fla.

He's the Florida congressman you love to hate. In October 2013, Grayson sent
out a fundraising e-mail equating the GOP with the Ku Klux Klan and even
included a burning cross.

Which is kind of odd considering it was Democrats who kept electing Sen. Robert
Byrd, D-W.Va. -- an actual former KKK member -- to office.

But of course, all he had to do was say he was mistaken and all was forgiven
since he had that magical "D" next to his name.

2. State Rep. Alvin Holmes, D-Ala.

During a debate in March over a bill to ban abortions once a fetal heartbeat
was detected, Alabama State Rep. Alvin Holmes claimed white Republicans would
be fine with aborting mixed-race grandchildren.

"Ninety-nine percent of the all of the white people in here are going to raise
their hand that they are against abortion," Holmes said, according to audio of
his remarks.

"On the other hand, 99 percent of the whites who are sitting in here now, if
their daughter got pregnant by a black man, they are going to make their
daughter have an abortion."

3. Rep. Charlie Rangel, D-N.Y.

Earlier this year, New York Rep. Charlie Rangel got into some hot water when he
claimed the Tea Party was made up of "mean, racist people."

"Now why do I say that? Because in those red states, they're the same slave-
holding states. They had the Confederate flag. They became Dixiecrats; they had
the Confederate flag. They're now the Tea Party; they still got the Confederate
[flag]. I don't think that's a coincidence," Rangel said.

"There is nothing the president can do - not love of country, not love of party
- that they're not prepared to kill themselves to get to him."

This isn't surprising coming from a man censured by the House after being found
guilty of 11 ethics violations, including the use of his rent-controlled
apartment in Harlem for campaign activities.

And this isn't the only time Rangel has equated Republicans with Confederates
(who, by the way and for the record, were Democrats). In November, he said
"there's a Confederate general" in every Republican living room.

4. State Rep. Jeff Roorda, D-Mo.

Anyone who dares make unions more transparent must be a Nazi, right? That's
what Missouri State Rep. Jeff Roorda accused Republican Holly Rehder of being
when she sponsored legislation that would prohibit public-sector unions from
using their fees for political purposes without annual written consent from
members.

As quoted in the Springfield News-Leader:

In remarks that drew a rebuke from Speaker Tim Jones, R-Eureka, Rep. Jeff
Roorda, D-Barnhart, suggested Rehder was following the example of the Nazis in
the lead-up to World War II.

Roorda read a quotation from Martin Niemoller that includes the famous line:
"Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out - Because I was not a
Jew."

"Who are you coming after next, lady?" Roorda said to Rehder after reading the
quotation.

Yup, making sure union members who don't want their dues used for political
purposes are granted that protection is akin to attempting to help murder an
entire race of people.

5. Gov. Pat Quinn, D-Ill.

You could try to claim that state representatives and well-known congressmen
are small potatoes when it comes to racist remarks, but you can't deny the
notoriety of a governor.

Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn's campaign tweeted and retweeted a link to a Chicago
Sun-Times column from Neil Steinberg that compared black Republicans to Jews
who helped the Nazis.

"As a general rule, individuals will sell out the interests of their groups in
return for personal benefit," Steinberg said. "It isn't just a black thing.
Jews collaborated with the Nazis during World War II, helping them to round up
their own people in the hopes they'd be the last to go."

6. Jay Stamper, South Carolina Senate candidate

Apparently, South Carolina Democratic Senate candidate Jay Stamper thinks
racism will play well in a state that hasn't voted for a Democratic
presidential candidate since Jimmy Carter.

"Ironic but what would the GOP do w/out African Americans? Racism seems to be
the one thing they rely on to hold their party together," Stamper said in a
tweet that was eventually deleted.

Chalk it up to an overzealous aide, but someone in Stamper's office thought
that tweet was a winner.

7. Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss.

Still living in the early 1990s, apparently, Mississippi Rep. Bennie Thompson
decided to rehash the old claim that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas was
an "Uncle Tom."

"It's almost to the point saying this man doesn't like black people, he doesn't
like being black," Thompson added.

Oh, and just for good measure, Thompson claimed Senate Minority Leader Mitch
McConnell, R-Ky., was "racist" for not supporting Obamacare.

8. Belleville, New Jersey, mayor candidate Marie Strumolo Burke

Even small-town Democrats get in on the racist action, as evidenced by
Belleville, New Jersey city council chairwoman and mayoral candidate Marie
Strumolo Burke.

In an undated audio recording obtained by NJ.com, Strumolo Burke is heard
saying her town is descending into a "F---ing n----- town."

Strumolo Burke was apparently unhappy with changes to the city's tax code. Not
sure how tax code = racism but that's what she said.

9. State Rep. Brett Hulsey, D-Wis.

State Rep. Brett Hulsey, who's running for governor in Wisconsin, told
supporters in early May that he was going to hand out KKK hoods at the
Republican state convention.

Hulsey didn't find his plans offensive, and instead insulted Wisconsin Gov.
Scott Walker and Republicans.

"What I find offensive is Gov. Walker and the Republicans' racist record.
They're the ones considering the resolution to leave the United States," Hulsey
said.

So to combat that he was going to do something even more racist?

San Francisco Democrat Under Fire For Repeated Use of Word Nigger, During
Committee Meeting

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/san-francisco-democrat-under-fire-meeting

A civil rights attorney, local Democratic Party official and former San
Francisco city supervisor is in hot water after repeatedly using the N-word
during a public meeting last month.

Angela Alioto has apologized but is facing calls for her removal from the San
Francisco Democratic County Central Committee over the incident during an April
DCCC meeting with African-American union members. Without self-censoring,
Alioto had used the N-word during that meeting while responding to a remark
from an African-American woman about hearing the racial epithet in the
workplace.

"Full disclosure, I'm a civil rights trial lawyer," Alioto said in a video of
the meeting. "It's what I do."

Left-Leaning Host of "Real Time With Bill Maher," Quipped "I'm A House Nigger"

HBO late-night host Bill Maher has apologized for using a racial slur on the
Friday night broadcast of his show that drew outrage and a rebuke from his own
employer.

Maher, the longtime left-leaning host of "Real Time With Bill Maher," quipped
"I'm a house nigger" during an interview with Sen. Ben Sasse (R., Neb.). Maher
is white.

Speaking with Maher about his new book, Sasse invited the comedian to come

"I've got to get to Nebraska more," Maher said.

"You're welcome," Sasse said. "We'd love to have you work in the fields with

"Work in the fields? Senator, I'm a house nigger," Maher said, as a mix of
groans and laughter came from the audience. "No, it's a joke."

The Maryland State House of Delegates Voted Thursday To Censure Delegate Mary
Ann Lisanti Over Her Use of A Racist Slur During An After-Hours Gathering With
Colleagues

By Christina Caron and Liam Stack

Feb. 28, 2019

The Maryland House of Delegates voted on Thursday to censure a white Democratic
state delegate who admitted to using a racist slur during an after-hours
gathering with her colleagues.

The delegate, Mary Ann Lisanti, who represents southern Harford County, near
Baltimore, apologized on Tuesday in a statement for using "an insensitive and
hurtful word" several weeks ago, but declined to say what that word was.

Calls Increase For Democratic Lawmaker To Resign Over Use of Racial Slur

A groundswell of Maryland elected officials - including the state's black
legislative caucus, Gov. Larry Hogan (R) and Prince George's County Executive
Angela D. Alsobrooks (D) - called Wednesday for the resignation of Del. Mary
Ann Lisanti, the Harford County Democrat who used the n-word to describe a
Prince George's legislative district.

Trending on Twitter, as Scott spoke, was the two words that Democrats love to
hurl around at Black Americans for speaking what is on their minds: "Uncle
Tom". "We're out here calling Tim Scott an Uncle Tom to prove to him that we
are in fact a very racist country"

MSNBC Guest Rationalizes Racist 'Uncle Tim' Slur Aimed At Sen. Tim Scott

Becket Adams 4/30/2021

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/msnbc-guest-rationalizes-racist-uncle-
tim-slur-aimed-at-sen-tim-scott/ar-BB1geLra

For some left-wing activists, Republican Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina is an
"Uncle Tom" for allying himself with the GOP.

Except they don't call him "Uncle Tom." They call him "Uncle Tim." Get it? Ha,
ha. Very funny!

And racist.

Yes, it's an overtly racist label. It's also an unintentionally ironic attack,
considering it was Scott who asserted this week that "America is not a racist
country." It's as if left-wingers heard the senator say this and took it as a
challenge, responding collectively with a defiant, "Oh yeah? We'll show you how
racist we can be!"

Naturally, there is nothing so vile that can be said about a Republican
lawmaker, and particularly a black Republican lawmaker, that some MSNBC guest
isn't willing to defend.

Meet MSNBC regular Christina Greer, who argued this week that the people
calling Scott "Uncle Tim" have a point.

The moment occurred after MSNBC host Jason Johnson voiced discomfort with the
racist nickname.

The slur is actually just a public display of "the internal conversations that
many black people have about Tim Scott and the Republican Party," Greer argued,
pointing to the senator's alignment with the GOP and his support of the Trump
presidency.

Greer, who started off first by calling the insult "problematic," continued,
arguing the senator has earned the "disrespect" of his critics because he
continues to defend the same party whose policies have kept black families,
including his own, down all these generations.

"That's where the lack of respect comes from," Greer said. "When he talks about
growing up in a one-bedroom house, ask yourself, why did you grow up in a one-
bedroom house? Because your party doesn't believe in equality. Ask yourself why
your grandfather didn't know how to read? It's because your party actually
defunds education. Ask yourself why it is that you went to failing schools?
It's because your party doesn't value education, especially for black youths,
especially for people in the south. "

This would probably come as a surprise to the dozens of Democratic governors
and state legislators who controlled South Carolina and zealously enforced Jim
Crow laws for several decades following the Civil War. (Fun fact: in 1974,
James Burrows Edwards became the state's first Republican governor since 1876.
Also, the Democratic governor who put the General Lee Confederate flag atop the
state capitol building was a Democratic U.S. Senator until 2005, and the first
governor who tried to remove it was a Republican, as was the governor who
completely removed it from the capitol grounds. But whatever.)

The MSNBC guest also seemingly argued Scott deserves the "Uncle Tim" tag
because he has "weaponized Christianity."

"The fact that Tim Scott tried to make it an individual conversation when it
should be a larger, institutional problem that his party is part of and one of
the main reasons why we have such inequity explains why this 'Uncle Tim'
hashtag was trending and explains the frustration also that many Democratic
Christians had where he's trying to weaponize Christianity in a way lots of
Democratic Christians are like, 'what are you talking about?" she said.

Here's a better question: What is she talking about?

"Like," Greer continued, "we can actually believe in, you know, Christ or
whatever the indoctrination is, without actually having policies that destroy
not just our country, but so many people across the globe."

Amusingly, she concluded by asserting that she doesn't know what's in Scott's
heart. But of course, she knows enough to state definitively that he's a token
of the Republican Party.

"I have no idea what's in the heart of Tim Scott," she said. "But let's be
clear. That entire party is being held hostage by Donald Trump because none of
them can plan for their future in 2024 until the former president decides
whether he wants to get off the sidelines or not."

Greer added, "I think also Tim Scott is their poster boy. Here's their one. So
if they're going to talk about a racial issue, he's the one. 'Give it to Mikey!
Put him out front! Let him talk about policing and cops and whatever it may
be!' And so - and he's willing to do that. He's always been willing to do
that."

Dem Rep Calls Clarence Thomas An 'Uncle Tom,' Stands By The Remark Because He's
Black

After calling Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas an "Uncle Tom" recently,
Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) defended his comments to CNN, saying, "But I'm
black."

Thompson's initial comment came when he called in to a New Nation of Islam
radio show Sunday. He said Thomas was an "Uncle Tom," adding that "it's almost
to the point saying this man doesn't like black people, he doesn't like being
black," according to The Week.

CNN's Dana Bash followed up with Thompson on Wednesday, asking him whether the
term he used was racially charged.

"For some it is, but to others it's the truth," he said.

Bash said if a white person had used the term, it would be inappropriate. "But
I'm black," Thompson replied.

"That makes it OK?" Bash asked.

"I mean, you're asking me the question, and I'm giving you a response,"
Thompson said. "The people that I represent, for the most part, have a real
issue with those decisions - voter ID, affirmative action, Affordable Care Act
- all those issues are very important, and for someone in the court who's
African American and not sensitive to that is a real problem."

During the Sunday radio show, the 11-term congressman also accused Republicans
of opposing President Barack Obama's initiatives because Obama is black.

"I've been in Washington. I saw three presidents now. I never saw George Bush
treated like this. I never saw Bill Clinton treated like this with such
disrespect," Thompson said, according to audio posted by BuzzFeed. "That Mitch
McConnell would have the audacity to tell the president of the United States -
not the chief executive, but the commander-in-chief - that 'I don't care what
you come up with we're going to be against it.' Now if that's not a racist
statement I don't know what is."

CNN's Bash asked Thompson on Wednesday what specific comments led him to say
GOP members are being harsher with Obama because of his race.

"I've seen quite a few State of the Union messages, I've never heard a
president called a liar in a State of the Union message," Thompson said,
referring to Rep. Joe Wilson's (R-S.C.) outcry of "You lie!" during Obama's
September 2009 address to a joint session of Congress.

CNN Calls Senator Tim Scott An Uncle Tom

This is CNN.

Casual racism was the disgusting tone CNN decided to go with following South
Carolina Senator Tim Scott's delivery of the Republican response to President
Biden's address to Congress Wednesday night. Together, chief political
correspondent Dana Bash and senior political correspondent Abby Phillip cackled
as they attacked Scott as a liar for defending Republican election integrity
efforts and dispelling the false notion they were worse than Jim Crow.

As Bash was getting into her reaction to Scott's rebuttal, she started to give
a wink and nudge to Scott's supposed status as a token black by noting his
"brand" and "unique voice in the Republican Party."

She went on to essentially suggest Scott was being an Uncle Tom for defending
something that was allegedly "worse than Jim Crow":

He's the only black Republican in the United States Senate and talking about
the Democrats attacking these voting restrictions that are being passed across
the country and these states as Jim Crow - worse than Jim Crow and fighting
back against that kind of rhetoric; was interesting but it's actually - it's
not necessarily true.

Bash and Phillip cackled in unison while declaring: "It's not true."

"It's just flat not true that states like Georgia are not making it more
difficult for people to vote," Bash added without evidence. "And you know, by
and large, those are people of color in those states that have been able to
vote easily or were in 2020."

Before they dipped into their casual racism, Phillip whined about Scott
bringing up the fact Senate Democrats had used the filibuster to shoot down his
police reform bill:

This was an extraordinary partisan speech for Tim Scott, especially, I thought,
on the issue of policing which is something he actively, right now, working
with Democrats on. He really strongly criticized Democrats on the issue in a
way that I thought surprising, given that he apparently fines it worthwhile to
actually work with them, right now, to get something done.

But of course, they refused to address the part of Scott's speech where he
called out the "progressives" who called him "Uncle Tom" and the "N-word."

Interesting how that works.

Following those two, liberal commentator Van Jones made an appearance and
decried Scott for saying America was not racist.

"But he lost a lot of African-Americans by the tens of millions when he said
'America is not a racist nation,'" he said. "Look, you can say that we're
getting better, you can say we've come a long way, but when you look at these
numbers, when you look at these statistics, it is very clear that this country
is still struggling with racism."

And Jones too seemed to tap on tokenism as the reason Scott was chosen to give
the response. "With that said, there is a reason they put him up," he opined.
"He's the best they've got. He can give that message, he can talk about - he
can try to polish up all the Republican nonsense without the sharp edges better
than the rest of them."

This is CNN.

Democrats Should Free Blacks From The Chains of "Uncle Tom"

Gosh, it's stifling to be a Democrat.

It's stifling just to listen to Democrats.

According to Democrats: Blacks vote Democrat, Blacks support Democratic
candidates, Blacks believe the Constitution is racist, Blacks think police hate
minorities, Blacks know Whites are born into privilege and Blacks never receive
a fair shake in America, not in education, not in economic opportunities and
certainly not in the court system. And here's the stifling part - anyone who
argues differently, sees differently, dares ponder differently is either Not
Black or BISCO - that is, Black In Skin Color Only. That is, Uncle Tom.

Stray from the party message at personal peril.

Just ask the GOP Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina.

Scott closed out the first night of the Republican National Convention with a
rousing rendition of an America-the-great story, only to be torn apart by
intolerants on Twitter the next day.

"Uncle Tom," accused one, The Blaze noted.

"Sen. Tim Scott's such an Uncle Tom," wrote another, The Blaze again noted.

And look at this, a tweet from veteran Jack Posobiec: "Democrat @RepCohen
[Tennessee] just liked a tweet saying Tim Scott 'might as well be white.' "

Then there was the recent off-the-rails "Fox & Friends" interview of
contributors Donna Brazile, former DNC chief, and Tammy Bruce, president of
Independent Women's Voice. The segment ended abruptly when an obviously
perturbed Brazile took umbrage at the tone and direction of their discussion on
race relations and began shouting such absurdities as, "[A]fter 400 years, my
family cannot walk out of this house without fearing violence," and "You ignore
the pains of people that are hurting," and then even this: "You do not
recognize my existence."

Disagree?

Whites who disagree are racist. Blacks who disagree are Uncle Toms.

Blacks who are Republicans are automatically Uncle Toms.

"Condoleezza Rice is an Uncle Tom," wrote one contributor to the Miami New
Times in September of 2012.

"Congressman stands by calling Clarence Thomas an 'Uncle Tom,' " USA Today
wrote, in April of 2014, of the slur slung by Rep. Bennie Thompson, Mississippi
Democrat, the Supreme Court justice's way.

And this admission, from an NBC News editorial, "Black Men for Trump, What
Makes Them Tick?" that was published in November of 2016: "It's not unusual for
black Democrat and Independent voters to look at their republican [sic; note
the NBC bias, small "r"] counterparts with skepticism and dismissal, writing
them off as sell-outs or an Uncle Tom."

Right. Not unusual at all. In fact, it's the usual. The normal. The frequent
and commonplace.

But it doesn't make it any less disgusting. Or ugly. Or confining. Or stifling.

The Democratic Party, without a doubt, has moved so far left that any semblance
of John F. Kennedy moderation has been wiped clean, in favor of socialism
masked as progressivism and Marxism masked as peaceful reform. But this "Uncle
Tom" stuff has to stop.

Demanding Blacks be all one way and none another is the political equivalent of
enslavement. It's an enslavement of minds, of ideas, of free-thinking curiosity
and education and independent analysis.

As Brazile herself might say: 400 years is enough.

Time for Democrats to free the Blacks from the party's narrow list of
expectations. Time for Democrats to let Blacks be who they want to be.
